Extreme couponing is generally considered to be the practice of using coupons to reduce the total cost of grocery purchases by a large factor; usually 50% or more. There has been a lot of publicity surrounding this practice in the past few years especially since the start of the TV series with the same name on TLC. All the publicity has not come without controversy. There are articles on the web that claim extreme couponing is detrimental to the coupon industry. The reason provided has largely to do with stores' reacting to this practice by reducing coupon values and dishonest/vulgar acts by some extreme couponing practitioners.

One thing that cannot be disputed is that if one is willing to spend the time, it can be done. In our opinion if extreme couponing is done in an honest way then it should not be frowned on. Our preference, however, is Leisure Couponing. We have learned that spending just a few minutes two or three times a week to keep abreast of ongoing deals allows us to easily reduce our grocery bills by 10% to 15%. At an average grocery cost of $250 per person per month, this adds up to considerable savings. Furthermore, if done leisurely, perusing deals is actually fun and a stress reliever and so it does not infringe on productive time.

Whatever couponing style you prefer, the following sites should prove helpful in your quest to save money. They are all comprehensive, easy to use and don't require registration before their services can be used (which is the reason some other great sites were left out).

Coupons.com - Coupons.com is the largest coupon website that we know of. Many of the other sites pick what they consider great deals at coupons.com and link to those deals on their own sites.

TheKrazyCouponLady.com – TheKrazyCouponLady.com is a very large, attractive and well organized website. For the most part it provides links to great finds on other sites though they do have some of their own printable coupons.

PassionForSavings.com – PassionForSavings.com also is a large, attractive site with many posts about great deals they find on the web.

MojoSavings.com – MojoSavings.com is another large site with great many posts about deals. Its design is a little playful. It has less featured grocery stores than the previous two sites but has other categories of content with a bit of different flavor.

CuckooForCouponDeals.com – CuckooForCouponDeals.com is yet another attractive well organized site chock-full of good information about saving money.

Couponaholic.net - Couponaholic.net is a little smaller than the other sites on this list but it is still well worth regular visits as it too contains a wealth of money saving information.
